DO I have enough power for a Sub?

I have a Clarion APA450 amp. I am running a pair of Infinity 4" reference in the front and 6x9 blaupunkts in the rear. I was thinking of going to an 8" sub like the RF Punch Stage1 P18S4 or Polk Audio db Series db804. My amp is 400watts, 50 per/channel. If I bridge the rear channel that should be 100watt for a sub. I dont care about booming bass that sets car alarms off or anyting, just good sounding bass. The 6x9's do pretty good, just wondered if my amp could run a sub for the future. Thanks in advanced for any info.....also...I havce the amp set to LP and bass boost for the 6x9's...would I do the same for a sub?

If it is 50 per channel at 4ohms you can probably get 200W to a sub when bridged. That should be enough if you have a small efficient sub to get some decent bass out of it.

You can get good bass for cheap. You can go to crutchfield and get 2 infinity 10's for 90.00 shipped.Then just get a small 2 channel for like 110-125 and for about 200 you can sound 10x better. Thats what i would do...

Well, Im very limited on space for sub, thats why I dont want to go any larger then 1 8". Cant afford another amp. Dont really want another amp either. Bake,,,,, I would get 200w bridged power just using the rear channel? Is that at 4 ohm or 2ohm? I will still be running the 4" Infinitys of the front channel. Sorry, but my owners manual really doesnt cover it real well on the APA 450 bridged. ALso, I mainly listen to alt. rock, classic rock, and some jazz....so Im really looking for a good clean bass to reproduce how a drum really sounds, not the thump and boom most cars put out.
