in the tutorial it says that the main reason subs blow out is because they are driven past their limits, that is why you set the gains, etc.

i have 2 subs that are 300W each.

My amp gives 250W x 2 at the wiring i did.

so, this means i can crank the input sensitivity all the way up, right? since the most Watts that can go into them is 250 they will be safe?

Set your gains with a dmm. Go to your local radio shack and get one. Seek the gain setting tutorials for further details. If you just go off cranking up the gain, then you will run into problems. You will clip the amp, and your subs will be short lived. Either get a dmm and set it, or have a someone that knows what they are doing.

You are not trying to match the output of the amp to the subs, but rather match the sensitivity of the input on the amp to the output on your head unit. If you do not have a DMM, set the gain to what strength your HU says its output is. If it is not matched right, then it will clip the signal to the subs and they will possibly blow from distortion.
