DNX 8120, powers on but doesnt function

Last night my battery apparantly died so I got a jump this morning. When I got in the car the headunit powers on (the buttons all light up) however the screen never comes on. And its not that the screen simply isnt working but the unit still functioning, because I place a cd in and also recieved no audio play back.

I set up an appointment for next week to have it looked at but if anyone can help me troubleshoot this before then, Id very much appreciate it.

Also if I neglected to post something vital please let me know and I can update it.

do the lights stay on like its working? Or come on at first and go off? does the volume and other buttons work?

the lights stay on and everything appears to work. i can hold source down and kill the power, then tap it again to turn it back on but still blankness.
