Dm810

I have a dm810 that started acting up after 3 years. Since it’s been cold on the east coast lately the volume will spike on the right side for no reasons. When the unit has been running for 25 minutes or more the system runs perfectly. If checked all my grounds and speakers and amps. Anyone have any ideas? Before I send it back to audio control to Alex for them to look at it.

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue. Have you checked for any potential temperature-related effects on the components?

I'm not too familiar with the audiocontrol
But my brother used to use the 810 few years ago, it was very glitchy
His settings would randomly change on him
I remember one time I looked at my poor tweeters I lent him and they were full on salsa dancing, Max excursion moving like woofers lol
Turned out he wasn't the only one with similar issues
Maybe you can see if there is a software update of some sort?
If not then i would contact audiocontrol
And see if they can help you out.

Could be a thermal problem (heat gun and freeze mist are used for finding these) or a bad solder joint. OpAmps can have thermal problems but when using a heat gun, it needs to have a very narrow outlet for the hot air because the other components need to remain at the ambient temperature. It also can't be too hot because that can damage the components.

You may be correct considering it was fine for 3 years seems more likely a hardware issue
Not so much software

I have an Audio Control EQL analog EQ that stopped working when ambient temps got below about 40F. Started after working fine for a few years. I know it's mechanical because I could get it to turn on by playing with the cover mounting screws. I bought it used so never considered sending it in for repairs. For a company based in the PNW I would have expected them to be used to cold weather.
