DLS vs. Rainbow...the ultimate question!

Ok...the players:

DLS UR36i vs. Rainbow Germanium's

Let's hear it all! I THOUGHT I was set on the DLS 3 way, but just want some varying opinion on both...sound vs. each other etc.

I like nice powerful midbass, smooooooth everything else. I was afraid the Rainbow's would be to tight and bright...but.... I have no clue! Sorry Manny //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll order something here in the next day or two.

Better tweeter in the Germs, IMO. Better overall for a door install with a lower crossover point.

I'd go with the Germs.

I've heard the Rainbows have great tweets...but the 3 way is the way to go. if anyone votes, vote WHY!

Its a tough one for sure. The UR's have what i think is the better of the DLS midbasses, you have the dedicated range factor between the drivers, tiny midranges with great off axis, and pretty much a ticket for a bit louder output.

With the Germs you have a nice chambered tweeter with a favorable FS for a nice 2way, a good midbass with copper in the motor and metal cone, and an audiophile xover that allows you to play with the drivers quasi-active. You can bi-amp them, and you can independently chose via jumpers between 2200hz 24db and 2600hz 12db for each driver and mix/match those combinations in a myriad of ways until you can get what you feel is the best phase relationship between the drivers based on your install locations.
