does all tint have a protective layer on it..

I was just practicing yesterday , mad air bubbles, lol..

And the piece that actually stuck and looked nice, after about an hour peeled off by itself, lol:laugh:

i got some fader tint , so i need to make sure i do it right b4 i put that on..

I'm gonna practice a lil more today, but why did it peel off on e it dryed??

There is a reason we carry the title 'professional window tinter' . It's not as easy as it looks... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i've done it a few times on a few cars it was fun. the worst is when doing something like a 911 turbo and you don't wanna get the leather wet:(. i helped out with my car doing the double limo tent on all the windows aside from front and then 20 on front.

There are pages and pages and pages upon pages of forum chat about tinting; Lost the bookmark, but I spent a whole day reading it. There are tons of techniques;

You can definitely learn a lot - not a straightforward task at all.

tintdude.com

great website, lots of resources and info. thats where i learned how to tint. i get many calls to tint lots of folks cars.

PS dont forget to get a "hard card" its a hard plastic wedge, awesome for getting rid of air bubbles and getting into tight corners.

to reduce bubbles i think there is a certain ratio of baby soap per gallon of water.
sorry to hijack but whats a good cleaner to use on tint?
Goto autozone and get an alcohol free cleaner. I beleive armorall's auto glass cleaner is safe

Stay away from products with ammonia or alcohol. Film is porous and will absorb these chemicals...and they eat the adhesive away..causing adhesive failure. I just use a microfiber towel and some water.

And there isnt a certain 'ratio' to reduce bubbles. It's all in the installation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you need to be sure to scrape the window off with a flat razor blade and clean it really good before you lay the tint down any junk(dirt, hair, etc.) will show up in the end, as for the bubbles you have to soak the window down completely to be able to work the bubbles and excess water out. there will be some water left over but the sun will dry that out.

The last piece i did was nice..

Except the bottom edge. I mean the bubbles just dont come out, so i try to force them to the side and even bigger bubbles come, lol, man.

I'm checkin out that tintdude web site though.
