diy computer xmas gift

My buddys parents asked me to build them a custom computer for christmas and gave me a budget of $900 for everything. They would like >17" LCD.

I'd like it to be as fast as possible for the money. They tried running WoW on their current computer, only to find out it was incompatible so they would love if it was capable of running that.

Im perfectly capable of building computers (ive built >8..if I recall?) but ive been out of the hardware scene for about a year and am not aware of the best *bang for the buck* products (motherboards, graphics cards, etc).

Im open to ordering products from anywhere...ebay, newegg, tigerdirect, etc

Please help me compile a list of the best parts to piece together the custom computer:D

tigerdirect has tons of refurbished monitors

i was gonna get a few myself, but decided to wait till after i pay off school, so i'll give you a tip

their 19" NEC monitors with opticlear screens are marked down to $199 (it's a $500 monitor) because they originally shipped with BAD POWER SUPPLIES

again, i wouldn't have told you that, but i've decided to wait to buy my new monitors, so they'll be gone anyways

hands down one of the best looking monitors on the market
