divx to dvd or video cd

i know you guys have seen them like 123 dvd and crap well heres whats up its easy to download different clips and what not in divx format and what not but heres the tricky part what would i use to convert it?, because i have some screens in my car and buying dvds is kinda costing me alot so is there a way to go from divx to dvd? or just a regular data cd the 700 mb one?, if so can you guys shed some light?.

I use a combination of either VirtualDub/TMPGEnc for splitting/merging, and WinAVI for converting to VOB.
