Ditching JL 300/4 for Orion 8004???

I know one thing , you will need an alternator upgrade with 2500d, it needs and sucks power. if not the amp is going to clip out on you...

He means it will just **** all the juice out of the electrical system and the amp will go into protect because it doesn't have enough power to run fully. My JL 1000/1 allready does taht sometimes when I play at full volume for a while. I know I need a new alternator. And I'd have one allready if any of these ******* ****ing alternator companies would ever return any emails or pick up their ****ing phone. How do you figure. Clip out does not mean anything.

The Orions of the last few years are mass produced, import, garbage IMO.

JL's are mass produced and made overseas aswell.

As to the original question.....there's really no point in switching unless you are in need of money or you do not like JL's regulated outputs for whatever reason (need more power when bridging, etc). You'll be losing some crossover adjustability by switching to the Orion, if you use that feature on your amplifiers. The difference in power between the JL and the Orion isn't really audible as helotaxi said.

Pretty much the only point for switching would be for looks, just so all the amps match. I'll figure it out eventually lol:goodbad:
