Well shiny metals and bright colors seems to be the trend.

I use stinger expert stuff. Its platinum plated (yeah right) but it does conduct better than copper, and they provide a really tight grip on the cable so you dont have to worry about a loose connection. its also a plus to have somekind of cover to product it from god knows what. something that lasts a while and looks like it has quality machining is what i look for. My 3 cents

The Stinger Expert stuff is black chrome plated but that is beside the point. The HPM is the "platinum" stuff.

Functionality differs almost zero from one block to another. Find one you like the looks of and can afford. Recessed inputs that allow some of the insulation to go into the block to prevent shorting is a good thing. Most all come with covers these days. Size and number of inputs and outputs is about all that matters though.

The inside (where the conductors actually make contact) are platinum. My friends dad is a chromer and i know for a fact it is impossible to crome the insides of those expert products none the less anything that detailed.

All metal has to be grinded i the same direction for the nickle to to adhere. If you want to around everyones one uping everyones threads. Ill have pics in my gallery soon if your infering im bs'n

People buy nice blocks b/c you get points for it when you compete for sound quality.

one that high conductivity metals in the terminals (gold plated, platinum plated). make sure they accept your gauge wire. i prefer to use one's that have mounting holes that you can affix with screws (you can attach them anywhere pretty much).

Those metals happen to be rather good conductors but the reason the terminals and blocks are plated with gold and platinum is that those two metals are not prone to corroding, unlike the brass that the terminals and blocks themselves are made of. Silver is a better condutor but it tarnishes really quickly and tarnish (silver oxide) doesn't conduct.

Inhuman- I had forgotten that the insides of the wire holes were plated differently. I use the Expert stuff myself.
