ok im gettin my orion 2500d on fri. and everyones tellin me to run 0 awg from my battery to a fused distro block, now my first question is, does it HAVE to be fused? i got 2 laying around and they are non fused so i was wondering if ill be fine using those, and i got 4 awg wire running from my battery to my trunk now, i really dont feel like rewiring all that shyt so whats the worst that can happen if i dont use a fused distro block and dont run 0awg?

hehe

the distrobution blocks def. don't need to be fused, you need to have a fuse between the battery and that wire, tho, to keep it from overheating, melting, and shorting out inside your car.

you also need to have fuses between the distro block and your amps/any other device you have power going to

and also, i've actually heard fused distro blocks are bad, unless each output is individually fused, because if you pop one of the fuses, they'll all pop, opposed to only popping the fuse leading to the device that triggered the break.

Battery || 1ft or less of 1/0 Cable || Proper Fuse+Holder || 1/0 Cable to trunk || Distrobution Block || less than 6" of 4ga or 8ga cable || Fuse+Proper Holder/rating! || AMP

And a good fused distribution block does have each output fused individually. With a fused distribution block it would change to

Battery || 1ft or less of 1/0 Cable || Proper Fuse+Holder || 1/0 Cable to trunk || Fused Distrobution Block || Short-Medium Length Cable Run of 4ga or 8ga going to Amp
