Distribution Block

I am looking at Stinger HPM Series SHDA2. It accepts two 1/0/4 guage and relays to two 4 or 8 guage power wires. I will be running two amplifiers. One for my subs and one for my components. I will be using Phoenix Gold X1200.1 and R5.0:4, respectively. I currently have 4 gauge wiring coming from the battery for another setup. When I get these new amps I would assume I would need to upgrade to 1 gauge wire going through a distribution block. Does this distribution block accept just one wire in and then 2 wires out? Why would you need 2 inputs? Thanks for your help.

Well you said yourself that it does accept two inputs....

And why would you need it? Well a high current drawing system may need two runs of 0awg to safely transport the current through a lengthy distance.

I think he is very confused right now. As I am intoxicated, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You don tneed to use 0awg wire, unless you are pullin around 250A or so, and trust me, if you knwo this little about basic wiring then you re pulling no where near 250A intentioanlly.

Use 4awg, it will be fine. And yes, im pretty sure you can use onlu one input, but why nit just get a different distro block?

the dist box would have 1 input...if u intend to upgrade in the future then it is wiser to just use 0/1 guage wire now...but you can successfully use 4guage as nooblet said...it also dependes on the lenght of the wire

here's a link to a good site that helps with these questions

a single 0awg cable would be planty for any system in a car built as a daily driver. for right now, i have 3 four gauge wires from the battery. soon i will have 0 awg.

Yea, I dunno about that, I have come across a few crazy people and if they are running a single battery from the Engine bay they may need 2 runs of 0awg //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The other input is if you have a second battery I believe. Or depending how the block is setup you could probably use it as an output.

As far as running 1 gauge from your battery is concerned: If you're planning on expanding your system in the future then I would recommend it highly. If you're pretty much set on what you have then what you already have is fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
