Distr block / 8awg,4awg question

Where should I mount the distribution block, under the hood or in the cab? Or does it not matter.

The answer to to my first question would help me determine if

it be better to have a longer length of 4awg from the battery to the block or a longer length of 8awg from the block to my amps.

Yea you dont want to have to run 2 wires to your trunk or wherever you are running them.

Have it near the amps. When I had my setup, I had my amps mounted to each side of my box and I had the distro block on the back. So the 8ga wiring for me was about 2 feet. and then my 4ga was about from the distro block to the battery was about 12 feet. So have the wiring from the amps to the distro block short and distro block to the battery long.
