ok i bought me some of those 6x9 sony xplod's and well i got my system hooked up and i turn it up and i hear the words good right then after a while i hear like static sound coming from my speakers in my car the xplods what can i do to fix this

First off they are sonys. Are you running it off a stock cd player? Your wires could be crap. Did you solder your connections? Secondly if you get an aftermarket cd player, they have better S/N (signal to noise) ratios that can help with the excess noise.

PM or email me Vette73ci@hotmail.com if you need more help?

hmm... mitsubishi... does it have **or HAD** the factory infinity head unit? if so... or you see infinity ANYWHERE... on the old speakers you took out... or on the old headunit... run new speaker wires from your head unit to your speakers... you have a factory infinity amp in the car more than likely that's creating the static...

Usually infinity sticks em right to the back of the speaker in a little mount. I've found em like that twice, so check that. Also, if thats the case, there are four wires leading to the bocx (amp + and -, & speaker level + and -), you only need two of them on the new speakers. The two that are the larger guage should be the power wires, the two thinner ones should be the signal ones... but you may want to check with a DMM just to be sure, cuz it might be different on various cars.

it is grounding out for one reason or another my money is on the fact you soldered your speakers in! and they are probably touching metal. it is also possibly the factory amp! the amp is most likely under the passeger side front seat that is what mitsu usually does.

as far as soldering your speakers in....no-one in the car audio industry actually does this...i have worked in it for many years seen many shops and nobody does this....for 2 reasons first its a pain in the *** when they have to be replaced....the 2nd is the likely scenario for your problem it leaves exposed wire and it touches metal use elctrical tape to cover up the connection...this is a ground out problem for sure if you didn't have the problem with the old spkrs
