distortion i think

i have 2 infinity reference 12's. when i turn it up pretty loud they start to sound like they are bottoming out. am i over powering them? gains messed up? they are on a autotek sx2200. are they not getting enough power?

Getting plenty of power most likely...if it sounds like they are bottoming out, they probably are. Just because the amp doesn't put out the rated power of the subs, doesn't mean that it can't bottom them out in a particular enclosure. Mechanical limits of the sub's suspension has nothing to do with the rated thermal power handling.
