disto block question

I am going to be building a new amp rack in the trunk for my boss (piece ofcrap) 4 channel and my memphis pr300.2 sub amp.

I am running 4awg for my memphis and 8awg for the 4channel (it's only 4x50 rms)

my question is, can i just run the 4awg to the trunk and use this http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6316 and run a short piece of 4awg to the sub and a short piece of 8awg to the 4x...

the point is, will the 4gauge from the battery be sufficient enough to run both these amps from the distro block, or would it have to be 1/0 awg from the battery then just split it to the 4 and 8?

the memphis amp is going to be pushing 2 12" memphis mclass subs at 250x2 @2ohms and the 4channel is running my door and deck speakers and it is pushing like 40rms@ 4ohms x4

well this is what i'm thinking, i will definately be changing out the crap boss amp eventually, probbly to another memphis amp, and a couple of comps in the doors so they will need more power..so maybe i'm better off with 1/0, the other thing is, the reason i wasn't looking into a fused block is because i have a stinger 250a inline for the sub amp and a jlaudio 100a for the 4channel, so i figured i wouldjust use the stinger on the run going to the distro and it would cover it.

would you suggest running the stinger inline fuse on the 1/0 line going to the distro and then making it a fused distro block? or could i just fuse the runs from the distro to the amps? (that would be kind of a cluttered amp rack with two fuses and a distro)

If I already have the extra 2 fuses I hate tospend the cash on a fused distro if i don't need it.

Go 4ga or 1/0 (which ever wire you decide on) into this
KnuKonceptz-1-0-4-Gauge-3-4-Way-Distribution-Block_W0QQitemZ220286533333QQcmdZViewItem
and you can run 8 ga, 4 ga or 1/0 if you wanted to in the future. But for what you have now, 4 ga will be plenty and run that into that block and you don't need the other 2 inline fuses you have.

So try this.........

fuse the power wire from the battery with your 100 amp fuse and if you get that distro i suggested, run your power into that. That block will come with mini anl fuses, so fuse the wires going to the amps through that.

interesting...that would be nice...

i already have some 8 ran to the trunk and i will be running 4 either way, so i will have to see if i want to utilize what i already have and use my fuses and all the 8 i have plus buy 4, or like you said.

i guess for a cleaner install, less inlines and a distro block would be best.

just for my own clarity.

4g fused from the battery into a fused distro block.

sounds easy enough.
