I switched from my 880prs to the cd8445 thinking my amps would love the 8volt pre-outs but really my gains stay the same I even had to turn them up a little so it would get loud at say 70 out of 80 on the volume.

The major issue is I get a lot of static noise through my speakers whether I'm on fm or ipod or cd whatever. Also the fm is kinda fuzzy as well.

I don't like the ipod control either

The deck just feels sloppy compared to my 880prs.

Anyone else get static through there speakers (you can only hear it at low volume)

I'm just going to get another deck 880prs if I can find one and use a line driver.

What is a good deck that will have a clean noise free signal that I can just boost with a line driver and must be ipod interface compatible?

I have the CD 5000 and i haven't experienced any of those problems you speak of.....miss the pause feature though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

you think i have the digital converter box box thingy mounted too close to power wires and thats why I am getting excessive noise through the rca pre-outs?

I have the rca's ran seperate from the power wire. It is mainly my rear channel rca's that get most of the noise so I switched those rca's with stinger triple shielded dream series rca's and still noise.

I would personally choose the 880PRS over the eclipse, but I loved the 8v pre-outs on my 8445. If you're using the AUX source for an ipod or another mp3 player, make sure to turn AUX sensitivity to "high." I believe its under the "function" menu. It's default level is quite low, which is why you had to turn your gains up. Once you switch it to "high," you'll be able to turn your gains down significantly.

When I was using mine, the gains on my amps were set extremely low and I got zero noise or hiss. Your noise probably isn't an issue with the head unit.

I turned my gains down and the noise is almost gone obviously but I have to turn it up all the way to get loud

On a brighter note the sound quality is pretty good.

I don't use the cII true bass or harmonizer or loud

Sounds like maybe your rcas are messed up.
What kind of amplifiers?
This and that....

I have an 800, loaned out my 8445 and I have a cd7000 as a backup. Only thing I didn't like about the 8445 was the face doesn't come off. I had to back everything off when using the eclipse decks.

My 4 channel is an Eclipse XA4000.

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
