I was looking at the pioneer deh-p710bt but it dosnt have a 24 bit dac so i dont know if i want it.

anything else out there that has all the features and qualith of the 710 but with a 24 bit dac?

I like all the features the pioneer has like the passenger ipod control and the dual usb and the blue tooth.

if you like pioneer have you considered the prs 880?

on a side note does any know the cheapest hu with 24bit DAC, no need for fancy EQ's because of an external xover, just cheap good lasers.

Probably the clarion units. I bought a 3 way active clarion 785usb with 24 bit dacs, and 6 volt pre outs for like 135$ shipped brand new. buy.com has the 9887 for like 270 shipped right now, and you can get the 880prs for around $250 shipped.

I like the prs880 but it dosnt have a lot of the "cool" features that the 710 has like it has no usb, no included ipod cord and no built in blue tooth and for me those functional features will be utilized often.

Honestly i dont even think i will be able to hear the difference between the 24 and 16 bit because i listen to my ipod 99% of the time at least ive been told that the difference is neglagible?

does anyone know if the new pioneers have rca issues?

as for the cehapest deck with a 24 bit i would say the jcv kd-r900 i think its oly $200 shipped or less.

You shouldn't have any RCA issues with the Pioneers if you don't mess with the RCA's with the head unit powered on. I've got the DEH-P980BT, and am very happy with it. I added the USB box, and the HD radio tuner to it.

Pioneer says you need to disconnect your negative battery terminal before you mess with the rca's. Not sure what the cause is but my current pioneer seems to be fine even through screwing with the rca cables while unit is on.

When you have it on pause and the volume up it makes a hiss sound but i think all decks do that. And it dosnt get faster or slower with the engine.
