dimming lights with h/o alt big 3 and kinetik battery

Hey guys im trying to find out why my headlights and dash lights are dimming with a h/o 220amp alt for excessive amperage kinetic 1800 battery up front and Memphis 1/0 for big three. for the equipment I have a jl hd750.1 and an arc ks300.4 really frustrated I spent a lot of money on getting my electrical and car beefed up to eventually go with a bigger setup and this current setup is causing my lights to dim please help with ways to test. I have clamped it and with a/c on headlights and system up it reads that im only pulling around 70-80 amps from the alternator????

What brand is your alternator? It will only supply as much power as the system requires, it's not putting out a constant 220 amps.

Lighting.is.very senitive ..u will see dimming as small as .2v drop...get hids and it will stop

its excessive amperage but the alt should be drawing more then 70-80 amps and dash lights are dimming as well even at high rpms

Get Hids (they are either on or off) no dimming.

Check the grounds again.

ive checked the grounds and grounded to where the factory wires were and cleaned the area reconnected no change

Did you remove the factory ground and power wires?

I agree to the idea of running HIDs, I was runing 2k rms on a stock 80 amp alternator with only the big 3 done and i never had any dimming because i have HIDs. they are only 30-70 dollars now so its not too bad.

U never replace factory wiring ..always piggy back on top of them

What is ur starting.voltage and what is it dropping to ? describe where ur big 3 wires are connected

No need on that power with what he has now..i run 5k rms with a 240 alt and 3 batts my voltage drop is to 14.2 @ full tilt and i had headlight dimming before hids

starting voltage is 14.9 and drops to 14.4 to 14.2 it fluctuates a little lowest though is 14.2 for big three power from alt to battery ground to engine block another ground to chasis,and from battery to fuse block
