i got 0.5 2 go til 145dbs
I am getting a pair of alpine type r 12's soon and i was just wonderint (because they will be inverted) around the gasket there are slits that i suppose are to allow the gasket to expand and shrink.

I was wondering though will i have to seal arround the gasket or will it be safe to leave it.

Considering that my type s 10's have them too and a whooshing noise is all that is stoping me inverting them

if you go to the photo gallery and look at the 'most popular images,' there is an inversely mounted type-r (called taylors install) and it doesnt really look modded at all. i dont think that you will have a problem

You can get a thin rubber gasket for your hardware store seal down on the wood with rubber glue. Make Sure the the gasket is as wide as the speaker mount. This will stop the air leaks do this before when i was an installer.

Originally posted by bass_mekanik do you reckon i could squeeze a small ammount of glue into the slit and use that instead or replacing the gasket

This should work also use a thin rubber gasket between the wood and the sub gasket.

thanks man that is the sort of reply i needed.

i will have it all done soon new amp is comming fast but i still have 389 dollars to pay off the layby and it is mine and i am saving for my sub not that aussie has them at the moment they were all gone before xmas and we don't get them till mid feb.

Ps the bos is going to be slot ported to 26 hz at 2 cuft and i will have 2 separate boxes for SQL and a common box for the 2 for SPHELL 43 hz and 6 cuft i think
