differnt box material other than MDF??

I am looking to do a really nice custom box and my question is there anything else i can use besides MDF?

Im looking more along the lines of cherry, ash, oak, walnut, teak, ECT... something REALLY custom. Any help anyone could give is great such as thickness needed for correct setup or anything.

Those should be fine, they are many hard woods used for home speakers, although the "cheaper" subs like JBL and such usually use particle board (compressed not chipped).

JBL GTi's....cheap? Lol. Particle board is a pretty bad material to use, since it will possibly blow up on you if you throw it enough power.
