Different Port Lengths- Same Box

This question should be presented only to those who consider themselves "experts" on box design/building.

What would the effect be of adding length to one of my external PVC aeroports? I'd like to tune even lower than what I have now but due to space restrictions, I can only add length to one of the two ports.

Say, to get to a 24hz tune I need an extra 10 inches added to both ports. Could I add 20 inches to one of the ports instead?

I'd like to try it as long as there aren't any major issues involved with a design like this.

You would have f*cked up wave....

... But how about you just seal off 1 port... and adjust the other to what you r tryin' to achieve.

I do not think that would work out well for you. Why don't you try using 1 6" port?

If I close off one of the 4 in ports, I wont have enough port area for my 2.5 cube box.

The purpose of the thread is to find out what a box with 2 different port lengths would do to the response curve.

Well the worst you can do is plug the port, and if it *****, unplug it.

sometimes whats done is done bro. either plug the ports or keep them the way they are, or build a new box. and why do you want to tune to 24hz? all you listen to is chopped and screwed crap?

If I want a lower tuned box I will redesign and build again. That isn't the main focus of my thread.

Since the box has multiple tuning frequencies, id like to know it changes the response curve.

All I can tell you is to try it...

.. But I would plug 1 of the ports....

And make the other port bigger in diameter & length.

( Should be fairly simply as: Cuttin' the hole, Buyin' a 6" - 8" PVC tub, calculating the length, and applying to the enclosure )

But of course the response wave is goin' to change - you have 2 different frequencies in the same enclosure

... It's like you're tryna make a wannabe " ABC " box ( except without a transfer chamber )

I personally think your subs are gonna be outta wack with the different cut off! - If you have a SubSonic Filter - That'll be pivital in this situation.
