Will 800 watts in class A/B give me the same thump and spl as 800 watts in class D in my subs?
Why wouldn't it ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gifWill 800 watts in class A/B give me the same thump and spl as 800 watts in class D in my subs?
how windy is it outside at the time? there are some factors to it.. but at 800 watts you couldn't tell either wayWhat's heavier? A pound of feathers or a pound of lead?
I don't think thats right, many SQ subwoofer amps are class A/BTHe way it was explained to me is the nothing but a difference in efficiency reproducing a range of frequencies. a/b amps do better at high freq, d is better at low, regardless of wattage. This could be wrong, it's second-hand information from an electronics engineer but we were both a little buzzed when we had this conversation.
I think they can do that because of the power supply? I don't know but I would like to know.I would say most of the difference is in the amount of distortion. There could be some coloring issues but I doubt it. A lot of home theater receivers use class D full range amps. One per a channel.
Its all in the design TBH. Any amp design can sound great or terrible.I think they can do that because of the power supply? I don't know but I would like to know.
That would depend on the manufacture and how they rate their amps (.01%, .1%, 1% or 10% THD and supply voltage)So basically there are differences in efficiency both amps whether A/B or D are still going to give 800 clean watts of power to subwoofers? There will be differences in efficiency but still 800 clean watts?
