DIfferences in power

Is there a difference in the raw power in an amp like a DD M2A, BC 2000, JL 1000/1 vs. those such as a JL HD 1200/1, alpine M-12, T1000-1bdcp, etc? ! I know they say the bigger amps have more raw power but what do you think?

Power is power a amp puts out what it puts out . Idk what "raw"power ur looking for or asking about ..are you asking the diff in the amps u listed as far as output?

Yeah exactly. I am not sure if the overall size and components in the amp make any difference. I know watts are watts.

Well the first 3 amps are more powerful .period..and u actually have them in the right order the m2b is a superior amp to them all ..are you trying to pick a amp ti run?

Yeah. I got a great deal on the DD M2a. It's in mint condition as well. The JL Audio 1000/1 didn't impress me as much.

Yea the m2a is a good amp what are you running ..the jl 1000 isnt really in the same realm .its less than half the power

But the jl 1000/1 will outdo the other 3 amps..so if it didnt impress u the other 3 def wont

i used ddm2a amp daily on a pair of re sx 18s d2 ( 1k rms each sub ) wired the amp to .5 for daily - dropped in the 13.2s on full abuse mode 13.8 for normal driving around loud power.... id estimate each sub is getting 1300w as i can get the coils to heat up and give off that "smell" a little bit when going hard for a few songs

its been the best amp ive ever had. i liked it so much i picked up a ddm3a for my new build in the ghetto blaster burb loud for cheap build log thread.

its never given me any problems

designed to be darn near bullet proof.

and can take the abuse

Get the m2 and upgrade to stronger d4 subs later to get full power outta that amp.

go to jl website and look at the HD series.you get same raw power.true RMS from11-14 volts from battery and whatever ohms your speakers are it still makes same power.you dont have all thos restrictions like for example most amps will have more power at 14 volts.HD has same at 11 volts.or most amps make alot more power at 2 ohms and half that at 4.not the HD same power no matter the ohms.and has thre footprint of a small laptop.

the more real power it puts out the louder it will get...just make sure your speakers can handle it
