Check the seller's feedback on here, send him a private message and ask about the amp and if he has any references of people he has sold to/bought from. It doesn't look like he has any feedback, but maybe he has a different username or some refs. You can always do COD or things like that, you are right to be cautious though. Ask him for pics out of the box, or even a vid or pics of the amplifier being hooked up and working. Always use Paypal so that even worst case scenario you can open up a case through paypal and get your money back.

If you are just going with a single sub setup and sealed enclosure, buy the box online from Ebay. Can get them for around $30 or so, and all you have to do is make sure and seal it completely, can buy the sealant for a few bucks and that's alot cheaper than $100 (be sure you get the righ airspace of course). Sonic Electronix is a good company on Ebay (or you can just go to their site) but they are fast at shipping and boxes are good quality and all 3/4 mdf, I've bought a few and never had any problems. Definitely learn to do the install yourself, save alot of $$$ and it's good stuff to know. Put in a little research on the web on how to install and you will find many detailed write ups, with pictures even, on how to do it. And if you get stumped or have a question can always go to the forum and usually get the answer! I'm not that old, but I wish we had this availabilty in the early/mid 90's when I first got involved in the car audio scene

these are the kind of answers, information and knowledge im looking for. i want people that want to help. i have been reading on this forum for the past 5 days, ever since i wanted to get a system. Yea i may ask a lot of questions and yes most of them may be dumb, but i am not asking to troll or to annoy people, i ask because i just flat out do now know. This car audio thing for me is new and has turned into a drug as i keep reading and i would like to be more knowledgeable of this sport.

Power handling isn't going to change in the same series of sub, that isn't a function of the size of the cone.
