Difference Betwwen SVC and DVC

I know what the difference is, But what is it Internally? Is there any pics, To show? I know There is 2 VC in a DVC, and one in a SVC But I am just wondering what it looks like...Without tearing one apart...lol

Depends on the winding method used. Some are wrapped with the individual coils layered on each other. Some have them with the wires interspersed. The real effect is the same as a SVC except you have more wiring options.

I have the same question so I thought I would tag onto this thread.

However, mine is the fundamental difference. Why would I want a DVC over an SVC? What is the sound difference? Is DVC better?

wiring options, meaning if you have a SVC @ 4 ohms then you can only run it at 4 ohms, versus a DVC @ 4 ohms you can run it 2 difference ways @ 2 ohms or 8 ohms, and possibly something else

im not a technician or anything but i think so, it just makes since to have something with more option than to just have only one

and DVC is better because you can wire them different to get more or less from your amp

There are other reasons.

Think about how small a 1ohm coil would be. The loss Power handleing and Bl wouldnt be worth the gain in power from the amplifer. With a D2 subwoofer you have 4 times the windings which means 4 times the potential for Bl and more power handleing.

There is a reason QVC subs are banned in some competition organizations.

For the most part Daily wont matter...but you will not see many SVC 1ohm subs.

You might see a DVC 2ohm sub internally bridged for a 1ohm nominal load every now and agian though.
