difference between reg. ported box vs. SPL box for comps

Hey guys,

My friend is going to be competing and he wanta a design for his set-up. I was just wondering how boxes for comps are usually designed? are they usually bigger cuft, more port area (16 sqinch. per cube) and higher tuning (40's)? what is usually the difference in size, tuning and port area from a reg. ported box, compared to a spl box (for people in comps)????
