difference between class a/b amp and class d H

Yeah, class D is more efficient than a class A/B amp. Sq is generally a moot point when dealing with Sq. Usually your THD as long as it not too high, as a personal rule of thumb i use under !%. Youre fine.

If you are looking at an amp to power subs, you won't notice a difference with any amp. Power is all that you care about.
Class T is a hybrid Class D with a variable switching frequency. It has some of the efficiency gains of the Class D design but is made to run over the full audio spectrum rather than just low freqs like most Class D amps. It is not a true linear amp, so while the average Joe probably wouldn't notice the difference between a Class T and a Class A or A/B on his mids and highs, a purist probably would. Most budget speakers wouldn't have the resolution required to hear the difference. Subs definitely don't have the resolution and the difference is more noticable in the higher freqs anyway.

Not exactly true when you start talking about different classes of full range amplifiers. A Class T amp is not a linear amp making it sound different than a Class A or Class A/B amp. Just like you can hear the difference between a CD an MP3 and a cassette, so you can hear the difference between a Class D or T and a Class A or A/B.

Jmac- The 1200.1 is a Tri-path (Class T) amp. All the rest of the Tantrum series are A/B. This is per the PG website.
