Difference between 2 channel RCA and Subwoofer RCA?

Is there a difference? Other than price?

Looking to slowly start replacing my wiring as all my RCA's are from like '01. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

Also I have a whine in my truck that I have tracked down to only when my sub amp is connected so after trying various grounding points and other troubleshooting, I want to try replacing the RCA. Is this a possible problem that would be associated with a high pitched whine? I don't think it's alt noise as it's constant and does not increase with engine rpm's. My wife says she can never really notice it but it drives me CRAZY.

Either way I will be buying new RCA's though

I have old monster cables that are still fine after 15 years. Today there are numerous companies that make large diameter wire rca. If you are using tiny diameter there could be a signal drop. Whining may be caused by positive wire running parallel or very thin shielding on the rca with power wire crossing or within close proximity. Worth replacing to a larger diameter if you think it may be a culprit.

The price does not necessarily have to be terrible. Just find a thick one with good shielding. Monster Cable I101XLN2C-3M (mon-101283-00) - 7-12 Ft. (3 Meters) - Sonic Electronix
