difference between 1,2,and 4 ohm

what is the difference between single, 2, and 4 ohm subs? does one get louder than the other, does one have better sq than the other? i dont get it, can you guys please explain?

The only difference is the impedance of the voice coil.

2 ohm subs don't sound any different than 4 ohm ones.

In general? No.

In specific situations? Yes. For example; If you have an amp that makes 500w @ 2ohm, and you want to give your sub 500w, you wouldn't want to buy a subwoofer that can only be wired to 4ohm or 1ohm.
