did image dynamics make an idspl before idmaxes were made?

The guy said he talked ti ID and they said use the specs of the idq v1 which I can't really find. I got a 1.5 cubic foot sealed box I was gonna use but should I push it with 510w rms 870w rms or I doubt it but 1200w rms?

Don't know, man. I've never seen one. I just know they exist. You should holler at Image Dynamics yourself and see what they have to say.

It's a relatively old sub too. You better make sure it's in good shape prior to getting it...

He sent pics and they had the date on them. It looks great but no way of knowing if its on its last leg or anything. With it being so old should I maybe pass it up cuz it will have a high chance of blowing? Ill send an email to id when I get off work and see if they could help if it did blow.

Ill post pics when I get off as well.

Guess until I find specs or someone knows ill try 510w rms first to see how it handles it.

if it blows, its not like its trash, you can recone just about any sub, the question is whether its worth the cost or not

Well that's what I meant by emailing ID about it to see if they could hook me up with something if it did blow.

I've never blown a sub or done a recone so I don't know anything about it.

If I got it reconed I'd prefer to have the colored image dynamics logo on it. The current is colorless.

But I guess money also determines the recone.

how much on average does it cost to recone? not to mention shipping =/

Similar to the IDQ, but with double stacked magnets. They had a higher power handling than an IDQ, but I dont remember much about them beyond that. Yes they were rare (special order only iirc), I dont think I was ever around one personally so I cant give any sonic details.

Ive seen them sell for around $100.
