did i mess up my MT?

they used pieces of 3/4"mdf board all the way along the inside but cut ports out for the air to flow through. there are two supposts all together, one on each side of the actual port. they liquid nailed and put brad nails in all the way along the supports also

If you do any searching you would see that glue is the main fastener in the box.Alot of debate has been brought up on which is best. However one thing that they all have in common is the glue holds the box together, the brads or screws just hold/clamp it in place until the glue sets.

And you can even find instances of guys not using ANY mechnical fasteners at all.Just straight cuts and clamps.

You run 2 MT's with 5000W and don't know how to check if a speaker is blown?

sorry im not selling anything. i did not end up blowing anything. i just bought everything about 4 or 5 months ago and finally got it set up

Find me a glue that has the same tensile strength as a screwed joint. Glue is good in shear due to the large surface area.
before I had a brad nailer, I didn't use any temporary fastener other than clamps. Brad nailer, or screws, just allow you to keep working and I'd choose a nailer over a screw for box building any day.

Titebond 2/3.
x2 on TB2, I hope this doesn't turn into ANOTHER glue thread:( or worse, the screw v. glue thread.

OP, we had a teammate blow a BNIB MT at Heatwave. They tried to claim clipping,(there were RE people on site) but it was set up properly:crazy: We used to flat out ABUSE MTs, I don't know what happened to that compa.... oh wait, yes I do.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Good luck
