as i was pulling out the wires from the big 3 , my wrench happened to hit the motor while on the alternator bolt and it sparked. battery is dead. i tried to jump start it and got nothing. no lights , door chimes or anything.

is there anyway to check it without pulling anything out of the engine compartment? i was already planning on swapping out the battery with one that works from another car , but id rather see if there is an easier way to check.

the car is a 2001 honda accord.

Did you actually check the battery with a DMM or are you just assuming it's dead because the jump didn't work?

Sounds like you blew the main fuse in the car. It should be an 80 amp in the fuse box under the hood. That would be the first thing to check.

didnt check with a DMM , were about to go out to eat dinner.

fuses in the car are fine. didnt check the underhood fuses.

btw , the car isnt going anywhere since the ****** is ****ed. do NOT buy a 98-01 accord. i would just like for it to be able to turn on.

I'll assume you didnt check the fuses with the dmm either. A visual inspection can be wrong. Check everything with a dmm.

you were correct sir , but it was a 100a fuse. advance auto only carries a 80a fuse of its type , so i replaced it with that. everything is fine except for the factory radio is locked.

x2 fusible link... almost guarantee thats what you did... similar thing happened to me
