2channel amp vs 1channel amp question?

So i have 2 kickers 12incvr hooked up to a old rockford 800a2 into 2ohms, thats 400 rms per channel. I tried to hook the same set up to a orion hcca2400 at 2ohms which is 800rms into 1 channel. The 2 channal is hella lot louder than the 1channel amp but the orion is twice the rms why is that?

the rockfrod is more underrated than the orion is the only thing i can think of. they should be about that same loud.

Yeah i cant find much info on the 800a2 its really old lol.

yes. 800 / 2 = 400

wow thats special, I thought it would play 800rms into each speaker I was not sure how a one channel amp worked , but i get it now. thanks for the help.
