Yep
to make a long story short i made a stupid "repair" without double checking..exposed + and - wires next to eachothersparking and whatnot boom blew my amp up. stupid i know i dont need your criticisms it sucks enough.

but im sitting here looking at my brand new only got to use for a day and a half SSD 10's wondering..could i have blown them!? im afraid of going over there and smelling them..and if they were blown wouldnt they smell like "bittersweet"?

i dont think that would blow your sub, but you can always check with a dmm. why the hell did you do that anyway?

im sellin my truck and i had just got the subs, so i threw together a quickie box and just wired it to work. well on the 07 Soundstream PCA-2000d's it only has one + and one - preout to the subs, and on my SSD's i wired the coils together on both subs, but still had one + and one - wire from each sub. So i had to try and shove both 10ga or 8ga wire (i forget which i used for this setup) + into the + preout (which is only designed for one 10 ga wire) in the amp and the same with the negs. alittle exposed wire where i twisted them both together, electrical tape came off somehow, spark, boom. game over.

no idea why i didnt just wire the subs together..

im so scared..$400 mistake it would be..ontop of the $400 chunk of metal that used to be an amp. thing caught fire and everything, spectacular.
pics of said fire or //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ban.gif.ce8465566702ef9f72e97e794ed1c86a.gif

haha, didnt find it as a kodac moment. was too woried about my $10,000 truck burning down. it was odd, my + and -'s started sparking, i reached back to tug the wires out, then on the complete other side of the amp my 12v and my ground arked. then the amp flickered..thats when i cut the power to the amp (its on a switch) but the amp has like a blue inlaid light behind a design, and even after i cut the power to the amp that didnt go off for a long time. the whole thing puzzles me

i'm sorry, i can't help it but //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
