Dicision between Morel or Koda 8"

I need a good quality mid bass... have subs (10's now movig to 12's), and componets (5 1/4 infinities)... I listen to punk/rawk/sublim/hendrix stuff... but still listen to dance for the drives to the bar...

Morel Pors: smaller depth

Cons: $418 a pair 200rms,

Koda 8 : pros : $112 (canadian)

Cons: depth , and thinking i need a box for it

other stuff,, i dont know about sound quality of either, will be crossing around 70-80 and crossing around 250.. want it strong threw this range to hit tom drums and mid tones

The depth and money are not huge issues but im looking for great SQ fill in that frequency range.. if any one has any experiance please help make this decision easier...My subs will bue around 1000 rms so i dont want thes mids washed out either.

where are these going? in boxes? in a door? where? ...... the morel has very low excursion... the RE XXX is worth looking at -- it is a smaller driver but not a slacker... Dayton RS 8"... 8 ohm -- get 2 per side for the low price that they are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif would be nice... wants a box though... large mounting depth req.

of those 2 though I'd go with the koda...

was thinking he back speaker mounts... but some one told me that i should use them up front in the kick panels or the doors.. i was trying to fill the sound was hoping no box but i think im going to have to... do both the kodas and the morels need a box.. i looked at the re but didnt see xxx 8s only saw re 8s is that what you ment????

you want to use them up front if possible... I was talking about the RE XXX 6.5"... it is one hell of a 6.5" though... an inch of excursion *drivvel*

kool thanks for the help.... think im going to go with the kodas and maby switch up my front to the rexxx might be over kill in the mids but most of the tunes i listen too are in that range.... so the is no love for the morels functing as mid fills... ???

I love the way morels sound, but my Crossfire X6's just sound incredible. You might also look at focal.

the wr-8s, ill be leaving in my front componet set, Im just looking for some stronger mids/lows so that there isnt a gap between my speakers and my sub... also i saw CDT EF-8. im not looking to use these as a sub becuase my subs willl take over probably around 70 and my highs around 200 ,,, are there also better cross over points...

I almost have to recommend you sell you component sets and start over by making kicks or speaker pods... or at least reinforcing your door panel and doing a little cutting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- I'm in the process of making a *very* high fidelity 2way that is meant to be actively highpassed at a minimum of 150hz... 300hz would be ideal... the RE XXX midbass would be the IDEAL midwoofer for the job... a 5" 2way turned into a 3 way by having 4 channels of amplification for the fronts alone... Use the head unit's highpass and time alignment... lowpass the XXX drivers actively and highpass the Seas MP 5" 2 way set actively... Eventually I will have a passive 3way using the XXX and the seas MP14RCY/P and the dayton RS28... as well as just the basic XXX/Dayton RS 2way... I need to take measurements of the XXX first though...
