Diamond d9 sealed or ported?!?!

I need input on which to build. Diamonds website suggest .6 or 1.25 cubic ft. for sealed and 1.25 cubic ft. for ported. I've got room for either. I just don't know which would sound best. I mainly listen to rock and metal, more so metal like lamb of god, all that remains, chimaira, etc. I figured sealed will sound better but which size? Or should I port it and to what tune? There site has a layout for a box tuned to 42hz which sounds high from what I have been researching. That's the thing though, they give you 3 different sizes to choose from.

My goals are for it to just sound good. I'm not looking to impress anyone or compete. I want it to have that "tight" feel and still get low. My wife will occasionally want to listen to her shitty pop music. I'm going to be pushing 600rms to it.
