Anyone else out there own a Diamond D3 line amplifier? If so, does it usually run pretty hot after it is used? Mine's is usually pretty hot after I check it after use, but not scorching or anything. My gains are extremely low due to my preouts so I don't think it's a problem; and it's never gone into protection. Just wondering if anyone else's amplifier runs the same.

Hmm, my buddy is running a D3 600.1 that doesnt get hot. I also ran a D5600.1 that never got hot. I just upgraded to a 1200.1 and havent noticed that it gets hot either....

The class D amps don't get as hot because less energy is wasted due to their higher efficiency.

If your amp is getting hot then the heatsink is doing what it is supposed to do; remove heat from the internal components.
