Diamond Audio D9 or TDX?

I'm guessing the D9 is the newer version of the TDX? Is there any advantage to either one? Besides the fact that the D9 can't handle as much power? And will a 12" D9 be able to take 1000-1200wRMS? Thanks!

They are mechanically the same driver, but there are minute cosmetic differences (color of the cone, etc)

D9 12 can easily handle 1200+

Oh Ic. Thanks. Would I be able to get real good SQ if I port it? And would a 1.5 cu ft^3 ported box be suitable for the sub?

These drivers were designed for vented enclosures

1.75' @ 29hz is the optimal vented volume for the 12

Ah, perfect. Could you suggest a budget amp to power it with around 1000-1200 watts? I just need a simple amp that won't break my budget which is around 300-325 but won't get hot or anything and will do rated power. Will the hifonics 1206D work?

I run one of each as they are one and the same I dont know why you though they were different

and they easily will take everything my 2500D will throw at the pair.

As for your set up I would get the eD 9.1 and the AudioEnhancers ported box sold at hificonnection.com

that box was made exactly to spec and it KILLZ !

I also run one in my RSX with an eD 9.1,my single ported TDX with eD's amp PWNS

my dual sealed set up - but wont for long as I am having a custome enclosure made.

I reccomend them,esp in the right ported box they are veryvery powerfull acccuarte subs

i was having problems with the 1400 watts or so that my amp was producing, the area that the woofer was in, and the extreme heat of being out on the boat.

Ah ok cool. Is it really worth the 100 bucks? And does anyone know the exact weight of the TDX/D9 sub?
