Diamond Audio D315D4 = SQL ?

i recently sold my SQ setup (2 12" ID12s) and was aiming more toward SQL. i came upon these Diamond Audio D3's 15" here: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15044 and these seem promising. i searched "diamond audio d3" on this forum and it seems to me that this company in general makes quality products. but i would like to know if 2 15" D3's will offer as much SQ as my previous id12's while having more output and spl?

ill be feeding the d3's at least 500 rms/piece in a sealed box.

Whats the difference between SQ and SQL? Do you mean SPL? If so might want to edit your thread title.

from personal experience i can tell you that yes, they are loud and sound nice.

500x2 on a pair of 15s will sound great....

but if you port them they will get really loud

and still sound good in the right enclosure

will a hifonics bxi1606d (1600wrms) be too much power for two 15" D3's ? or are these subs underrated?

their going in a 1.9 cu per chamber sealed box

subs are prolly a little underrated and amp is overrated.. plus a little headroom is a good thing. i wouldnt hesitate to hook them up to it.

i wouldnt really call the diamond d3 line, sql woofers. but they can get loud.

i previously owned 2 ID12v3's powered by a BX1000D and loved the SQ that it gave me. can i expect to get something similar to my previous setup with these 2 15's? it seems that the dilemma is im sacraficing *sp* SQ for SPL

the d3's are awsome sounds woofers. you are not going to lose anything, sq wise.
