Devry University

If for whatever reason you don't have access to a university, Devry is fine. Just make sure to finish what you start. Thats the key. Remember that any college education is better than none, and that *most people who start, tend to never graduate. Remember, by having any college degree, you're in the minority, and will always be in significantly higher demand than *most people. Only around 16% of US citizens hold a degree.
And half of those have clown car ******'s and thus will never truly join the workforce.

i looked into both and ITT was deff more money orientatedand they say they are accreditied.. which they have to be but they're credits dont transfer.

on their comercials it says "units earned are unlikely to transfer".. just saw that last week. lol

they also made me fill out and sign an "agreement to enroll" form... i didnt sign it

devry was definitly more profesional.

the guy from ITT is still calling me every month even after i told him no about 6 months ago and the guy from devry just called once, i said maybe next semester, and he said "ok well we'll be here"

and devrys credits transfer

and a plus for me.. boeing is right across the street //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i still dont know wether or not ill go
thanks for that headsup.

I know. Some ppl i know dropped out, I know a few who got full rides to universities too.

My friend graduated their with a finance degree, he cant find a job anywhere. I hear that it isnt a very prestigious institute.
how do we know he isn't just a jackass? So many variables go into finding a job. For starters, if he is from Michigan like you, you are dealing with the worst economy in the country, when the country's economy is already poor.

I got my A.A.S in Electronics & Computer Technology from DeVry. The one I went to was fairly new, so it had some issues, but definitely a professional environment and hands on from the beginning. Someone stated that they better find you a job, and thats exactly what they did for me. They will ask for your permission to pass on your resume to employers seeking new graduates/interns while you are a student and so forth. Since I graduated in 04 I have a good career working for the Naval Research Lab in DC. DeVry is acredited as well. Hope this helps.

that actually helped alot

thanks for your input.

glad to hear you turned out great.

I went to ITT and I have to say it was an extremely good school. I personally didn't finish because the area I studied was not for me. I went for Criminal Justice. Not every ITT or Devry will be the same but from my experience ITT offered a more personal approach where the teachers were willing to take as much time out as you needed to help you in any way. I liked the small class sizes and hands on activity. I remember they set up a crime and performed it and Criminal Justice students who wanted to participate got the chance to investigate and solve a crime. And they also allowed us to go to the shooting range and practice shooting. If your local ITT is anything like mines was I would recommend going. All my professors had spent years in the field they teach and most still practiced in the field. And my ITT had an excellent career center where they helped you get a job and get your foot in the door. Not to mention all the contacts you can make through your teachers and other students. The networking there is incredible. If you have any questions about my experiences at ITT you can PM me and I'll try to help you. Oh yea and one really good thing about ITT is that they supplied me with everything I needed. If you needed any software such as Microsoft office, photoshop, or that construction program I forget what it's called they got us everything we needed. Books were included in tuition as well. Good luck with whatever school you choose and I recommend you make sure you're going into a field that you're 100% sure you'll go all the way through with.

I go there currently. Im only a few months away from getting my associates in electronics and computer technology (ECT).

My experiences there have been so-so. The DeVry I go to is a center, not a campus.

Ive so far had one teacher who got fired because he sucked *** at teaching. Unfortunately I was stuck in his classes for several months before he got the boot.

The administration is horrible at my center. Though they have gotten better, I had financial issues from the get go (not a lack of money, more of them not doing anything right). We've had 3 deans so far, they just keep leaving. The online portion of my classes almost always has the wrong books listed and the test banks have wrong answers listed as correct. Its quite pathetic for how much Im paying them.

But, the professors at my school know there stuff. And classes are quite small (my current class only has 4 students including me). So it is very personal, you wont have to worry about not getting the help you need.

This is the main reason I prefer the smaller institutions over big universities

Don't waste your money. Go to the community college and transfer to a 4 year program, that way you'll have a real degree. DeVry and ITT Tech are just degree mills, you pay them and show up, and in return you get a "degree." They don't have real accreditations, they just have campuses in major cities to draw in more students.

My wife got her bachelors degree in buisness marketing from Devry and is doing fine. She works for a mojor pharmaceutical company here in NJ and will be starting her masters at NYU. Devry is a fine school, maybe not tnot the best in the country, but it is good. Getting a job afterwards is mostly on you not the school.
