i mean manufacturing labor. No company in their right mind would start a new manufacturing plant, let alone an automotive plant, here in Michigan. The wages are far too high.
Case in point - VW chosing Tennessee to build their new plant. Like they'd want any part of a UAW contract muddling up their profits.
U of M grads? Great - U of M furnishes Michigan with one of the biggest Brain Drains of any state. Don't have factual figures to quote, but Brain Drain is grads leaving our state to work in other states/countries when they get hired by said out-of-Michigan companies. That sucks dry our economic base. All that disposable income going elseware.
