It's great to have yet another reason to be the laughing stock of the entire nation. As if our governor, our taxes, and our labor force weren't pathetic enough as it was.

How is the labor force pathetic? Lots of companies from other states are plucking Michiganders, especially Michigan grads. The talent is here, the jobs are not.

i mean manufacturing labor. No company in their right mind would start a new manufacturing plant, let alone an automotive plant, here in Michigan. The wages are far too high.

Case in point - VW chosing Tennessee to build their new plant. Like they'd want any part of a UAW contract muddling up their profits.

U of M grads? Great - U of M furnishes Michigan with one of the biggest Brain Drains of any state. Don't have factual figures to quote, but Brain Drain is grads leaving our state to work in other states/countries when they get hired by said out-of-Michigan companies. That sucks dry our economic base. All that disposable income going elseware.

Exactly. There is no reason for them to stay in Michigan. If Michigan could attract more business, they wouldn't have to leave. They hung their hat on the auto industry, and now it crumbled. You really think a VW plant would help turn the economy around? Besides the big 3 is slashing their workforce and replacing them with lower wage employees. Give me a break about the UAW.

Have you ever seen an MDOT worker actually do any even a remotely decent job on a road? Or any work at all for that matter?

This is true though. There are a lot of good colleges in Michigan so like Lug said, the talent and education is here but the employment isn't. F*ck I work in the medical field and still can't find another job. I have tons of experience working in surgery centers doing everything from paperwork and venipuncture to assisting in surgery and sterilizing instruments to putting away stock and taking out the garbage.

There is nothing poor about Kwame, I do not feel sorry for him at all, I only feel bad because incidents like this is why people don't trust my race with positions of power on a grand scale
