Determining a song's frequency (software)

I found one thread on this topic but nothing much for an answer.

I simply want to be able to look at a passage of music and determine its frequency (mainly the lowest frequency)

I have adobe audition, and I can do it visually with some tracks where there's not much else happening other than bass, but I never know for sure if I'm right, and if there's much else happening other than the basic frequency it's hard to do.

Any ideas?

Download Audacity, select a small area of a song, go to Analyze > Plot Spectrum, set settings to 4096 and Log frequency
