dent in dust cap

well stupid me, i was pressing on the dust cap of my diamond D6 to see if it had a good seal.

the suspension on this is very stiff, so you have to press it kind of hard. short story even shorter, my dust cap has a 1" length divot, about 1/4" depth.

is there anything that will pop it back open? when it starts moving again, will the divot pop back out? does air push against the dust cap?

if it's going to pop back on it's own, i'll leave it alone, otherwise, i can start searching for our "ding king"

You could use an old retail trick to take the dent out.

Take a straight pin and bend it slightly (so that its no longer straight), poke it into the middle of the dent and pull out the dent.

It leaves a tiny little hole, but it takes out most of the dent.

can you stick somthing through the pole vent and push the dent out?

theres a mesh grill in front of it, would putting compressed air pointing towards it work?

get some double sided tape and wrap it around the end of a q tip, stick it on the dustcap, then slowly pull back.

jsut take your fingers and kinda squeeze around it and pull up slowly and sometimes u can pop it back up

i use a 5 gallon 5 horse power one at work and it would do it i dunno about the small lil shop vac you need DA POWA
