I wouldnt suggest editing a boot.ini file if you are asking how to remove an operating system.

yea that is true but I am not sure if xp will still have a invalid os in the boot ini

Edit the Boot.ini File

To view and edit the Boot.ini file:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.

3. Under System Startup, click Edit.
