Delayed bass

I just got my system installed yesterday (the one in my sig) and it is real freaking loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I have a question though: When I turn the car on, the song will play but it will take 3-5 seconds for the sub to hit. Why is that? Nothing else is wrong, just a slight delay.

your amp takes a while to turn on.....totally normal

It's probably the anti-thump circuitry. Many amps do this and it's fine.

Thats normal. Amps are being made with a delay so it doesnt make a loud pop

Yeah man for sure.

Chris helped me out with my gains, they were set a little over half way and I kept the volume around 35. We thought we started to smell a little voice coil playing hypnotize (sub didnt heat up, we just thought we did so we didnt want to take chances) so we turned the gains to a little over a quarter and kept it at 35.

Still slams fairly hard with the seats down, but I'm itching to unleash this sub

in your avatar...if you were to do that....how long could you power a system like that with a car battery before it drained it

Because I blew my last sub ****ing with the gains. I want to wait until my friend, who knows more about setting gains than I do, can look at it before I turn the volume up.
