Deka 9A31 VS Optima Yellowtop 31T

Wondering if a Deka would be a fair contest to the optima, i have heard almost all good about deka. The optima has there name going for them. I live in Canada so I can barely get any brands shipped. I can get the deka for 260 and the optima 280. Should i spend the extra 20? or will the deka suit my needs fine. I'm going to be using it as my primary batter on a lanzar 2000d @ 0.5 ohm and an RF 400-4

I would go with the Deka since I have personal experience with them, they are great batteries for the price.

cant find the DEKA any cheaper?

i know optima is around that price, i would imagine the deka would be a bit cheaper

i paid 160 for mine here in US, even in Canadian prices it would be that much more

Yea I know buying batteries in Canada sucks. I want a group 31 only because i can fit it ( 2000 lincoln LS has trunk battery ) I actually got a quote for another deka at another place and they wanted 300

I paid $165 picked up for mine but to have some shipped the cheapest I found was like $195 shipped from remybattery.com

Have you tried looking around the classified section for a used one? I think you should be able to find a used one shipped to Canada for much cheaper than $260.

The only other batteries are at like Canadian Tire. They have the Exide orbital batteries for 199. they are like optima's basically group 34 for 199. i figured the deka would be hella better for extra 60 bucks

I don't mind spending a little bit of money for something local having it right. Shipping and border = the gay. hehe. Deka it is then. I'll eat it on the cost i might do a little more shopping around before go ahead with it. Definately will go with the Deka. Thanks for the input.

Im in canada and face the high price battery situation to. I just was in the market for 2 batteries to feed about 3000rms. Theres a few dealers in toronto, but like you said, prices are HIGH!.

I ended up buying a brand new optima from a friend for cheap, and went to crappy tire and picked up there fattest group 34 they had, like 1100cranking amps and a 180min reserve, weighs a ton, cost $129 I think with the 3 year warranty. Both are underhood and are holding 12.5+ volts plus no problem
