Deka 775MF VS XS D3400

What's the reason? Are they made in a different factory than every other AGM battery? Is there some magic technology that makes them better than everyone elses? Do we have any independent scientific test that shows how superior they are to other products?

Implying your alternator has nothing to do with it, also implying you are seeing that kind of power out of your amp even 10% of the time. Also when you're claiming your voltage doesn't drop, what are you using to measure this?

You may want to prove how and why these are the best thing on earth before going so far out on a limb for them.

Op, know also that the high end AGM style battery sold at O'Reileys auto parts stores is also same as deka.
XS uses a different tech for plates and lead. I know you have seen the pull test where it smoked a kinetic and a Deka type cell. It was done by XS, I'm sure that is not good enough for you. I guess all the test Jacob does on his woofers dont matter either.

The alt does have something to do with it BUT it was still good with only a 200 amp under the hood. It just holds up longer now.

I've use a fluke from my job to see how far off the Stinger meter at the amp is. Its very close just not as fast.

Tell me something... If the cheapest way out works how come nobody doing it big uses somehting else?

according to a "BCI battery group size chart" i found. i may actually be able to fit the G31 in my car. it would be a tight fit and i would have to lower the battery by about 2".

would it be worth it to shoe-horn the G31 in there instead of the G34 considering the extra work? if it will save me from having to possibly run a second batttery down the road then ill probobly do it regardless.

Matt

Edit: i could fit it, but id have to shave the airbox, cut out a 1"X8" peice of the front clip, and lower the battery by ~3 inches. seems like too much work. i have ~12L X 8W X 8T to work with.

How much power do you plan on running and how large is the alternator. I know these guys have got you taking the cheap way out but if you use a XS under the hood you wont need a batt in the back. From the batteries I have played with 1 of my XS 34s did the same job as 1 C&D 31. It took 2 C&D 34s to stay even with my 1 XS D3400. C&D is very close to the East Penn batteries

lol thats true. All these cheap bastards have got under my skin. BUT dont forget I have over 800 watts of 50% eff A/B slash power.
Not all of us are as proud of overpaying as you are, don't think that makes us cheap bastards //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Last install I did was 14 xs power batts and 2 390xps, voltage was less then stellar. Considering what that pallet of batts cost and the fact he had room to run more Deka's which would have been the same price. I'm not all that impressed.

I've yet to see any magic from xs other then how fast your $$$ disappears and I've done several installs with them cuz that's what the customer has. Their money so their choice....

Really? I'm sure the lead they use is hand mined by virgins in the Swiss Alpes. Is this something documented (by someone who doesn't sell their batteries)? Do they have their own factory somewhere? Sounds like typical Car Audio snake oil to me. Is this magic new tech patented by them or is it something available in a different product under another name?

I know you have seen the pull test where it smoked a kinetic and a Deka type cell.
Haven't seen it actually. What PRECISELY did it do? Why is it "better"? Is it "better" for all applications? By what % is it "better" than everything else? How can XS's magic make their 75 AH battery have as much reserve as other brand's 105AH?

It was done by XS, I'm sure that is not good enough for you. I guess all the test Jacob does on his woofers dont matter either.
Sorry to say, but the audio industry in general has been full of snake oil salesmen from the beginning. Not sure why you bring Jacob into this. I listen to everything, but believe almost nothing if I can't verify it to my satisfaction. I'm giving you a chance to prove how these batteries are twice as good (in what application?) as everything else, and you're really dancing around the issue trying to justify the money you spent on them.

Tell me something... If the cheapest way out works how come nobody doing it big uses somehting else?
So EVERYBODY big uses XS? First of all, I promise you can't prove that claim, second of all, OP isn't "going big" if you even read the thread instead of trying to prove your p@nis size by what brand name you over-pay for, you'd see that he could probably get away with just about anything new provided his connections are sound and he's done big 3.

Look it up. Xs batteries discharge voltage and charge faster then any other battery out. U can research and find all kinds of tests done. They are the best.
Are they better size vs. size, weight vs. weight, price vs. price, or just better than everyone else because you paid more for them and like their marketing?

I bet you'd get banned from SMD for a comment like that!

Really I'm not even knocking XS power, but my gut tells me there's only 1 or 2 factories that make every battery out there, and I also suspect the performance gains are marginal compared to the inflated price. It's funny watching all the fanboys try to dance around reciting some marketing hype though.

Its funny watching you dance around justifing its always good to take the cheap way out. I'm curious to how much you change out equipment. You seem like one of those people that burn through alot of gear, never pleased. You might want to try getting good stuff, I use to burn through stuff monthly. I use to jump on all the bandwagon forum boners. I finally relized you do get what you pay for. Guess what? I paid a bit more and I'm finally happy. I dont need to run coilovers cause I need 300 pounds of dekas to power my setup. look at the big picture not just the intial cost. People tend to overlook the final cost these days. You really do get what you pay for, one XS 3400 outdid 2 C&D 31s. Cost to weight to preformance shows XS as the winner
