I just got this unit yesterday in the mail and I've been trying to change the backround to one from my computer. I downloaded the program from Pioneer. Chose make Ent Picture(LKA), clikced Picture to BGV, opened picture, hit select, put the effects on and whatever. then I clicked conclude editing/save at the bottom right. I saved it to my documents and tried burning a data disc. burnt it, and did the thing where you hold the eq and list button and it says download ready. I put the disc in, and it comes up as disc error. Does anyone know if I'm missing any steps in this or maybe some tips? Some people said before if you try a different disc it might work. I have TDK discs right now.

Ive used sonys on mine and I dont have a prob. It is kind of an involved process and to size the pics right is tough but when you get it to work out its slick! You are transfering them to a LKA file correct? There are a few forums on the net about the Pioneer elo color displays google it, it helped me.

I'm using Nero as well burning as a simple data disk and it works great. However, i too had the disk error message when i first attempted to do this because after saving the file as an "LKD" type, i got to excited and didn't realize you have to go into "export" and then register the file and end it with exporting the file/converting it to "LKA" so the deck reads it. This is the part that makes the file readable and cuts the file size in 1/4th. It took about 11 minutes for my 7800 to load up my vid of 1.04 mb... one would think this technology is from the 80's, f u c k. Also, i believe their is a size limit, how big of file is it? and is it for sure in LKA? what did you convert/create?

Just read your first post again, sounds to me like your file might be an LKD, which is what it is right after you actually create the file. Double check your file type, and make SURE you follow the 2nd part that i just stated!

when you make your pic and vid files (.LKD) you dont just save those to the disc and try to upload it to your head unit. go into the oel software program. on the top right there is a tab that says "Export". Go in there and arrange all of your files that you want to display in your vehicle. On the bottom right there is a button that says "LKA File Export". That button will turn all of your pics and vids(.LKD) into one big .LKA file. Take that .LKA file and put that into your head unit and let it upload.

I made a whole thread about it.
