Deck turns off before 1/2 volume, is it my wireing ga?

Ok my deck will turn off right before I get to 1/2 volume.

My question is, is using 8ga ground and power wire the probable reason? The wire is rated at 300-400RMS and my amp/sub RMS is 700. I have a 4 ga kit that is rated above 700rms, I'm going to install it later if you think it will help. My question is, COULD THIS BE WHY?
